I initially chose The Star by Ann Taylor because it was very simple and brang back many good memories. The poem was very easy to understand and intrepret. The main reason I chose this poem was because it included a very well known poem, Twinkle Twinkle Little Star. I used to sing this song to my brother and cousins every night on top of our roof in India. It was the first song they all learned in English. I remember learning this song, Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, on the first day of school. It was very memorable for reasons I shall not say. I don't have a very sentimental, deep connection with Ann Taylor's poem. I just chose to recite it because it was simple and was a pretty good length to memorize.
I think I worked hard for trhe past few days memorizing the poem with good voice and emphasis. i recite it every night so I know I won't forget it. I think I have a pretty good chance at making it in the top ten of the classroom competition. I just have to talk more slowly with more voce infliction and sound like it means everything to me. ha, not really. I might even win the class competition with my pure awesomeness. Yes, I'm so modest.
